Enjoy Oktoberfest 2015 in Idaho with these nine celebrations despite the fact that there are only 300,000 claiming German heritage. Either they are well organized, highly concentrated, small or attended by a number of people that just pretend to be German 😉

Lava Hot Springs Oktoberfest – Lava Hot Springs, ID – October 2-4, 2015.
Celebrate the start of fall and the harvest with fun next to the Portneuf River. Last year’s schedule started with the kick-off party on Friday. Saturday brought Oktoberfest, a fun run/walk of 5k/10k and pumpkin chuckin contest. Sunday was the duck race (no oktoberfest sunday). Food, beer and music at the Lava Community Building. The event is raising money for a bike path. Location: 150 N Center, Lava Hot Springs, ID

Crosstoberfest – Sun Valley, ID – October 16-17, 2015
This annual event in October combines a cyclocross race with a beerfest. The beerfest features around 100 beers from over 20 breweries. Beer festival garden is for 21+ only, but there are plenty of other acitivities for kids and families. An all access pass for Friday evening and Saturday is $25. Riders get discounted tickets to the festival with race registration. 2015 will be the 12th annual event.

Harrison Oktoberfest – Harrison, ID – October 3, 2015
Microbreweries will be in attendance offering beer to fill your souvenir glass. There will also be food and live music. Activities for kids include face painting, bounce house and more. This event has been going on for more than five years.

Oktoberfest Old Boise – Boise, ID – September 26, 2015 (tentative)
Live music, dancing, Bavarian foods, seasonal and Oktoberfest beers plus a Sam Adams stein hoisting contest. 3-10 PM. Location: 6th and Maine, Boise, ID

MCPAWS Oktoberfest – McCall, ID – October 3, 2015
This 7th annual fundraiser for MCPAWS, a regional animal shelter, will include beer garden, food & craft vendors, kids activities, adoptable dogs and live music. Costume contest for adults and kids as well as raffles. It is held at Alpine Village, a resort style condominium development in the downtown area. Held annually on the first Saturday in October. Location: 600 N 3rd St, McCall, ID 83638

Coeur d’Alene Oktoberfest – Coeur d’Alene, ID – September 25-26, 2015
$20 buys you admission to three musical performances, a glass beer mug and six sampling tickets.  It runs from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday and from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday.  Also experience the Gran Fondo biking event at Oktoberfest.

Tres Bonne Cuisine Oktoberfest – Boise, ID – September 25-26, 2015
Tres Bonne Cuisine will host its 88th annual Idaho Oktoberfest with a two day evening celebration of German food and beer. Weisswurst and bratwurst are on the menu as well as other German food. Stadl Bier from Bavaria Innstadt Brewery. One complimentary beer.

Priest River Oktoberfest – Priest River, Idaho – September 27, 2014
2014 will mark the seventh annual Oktoberfest in downtown Priest River. The event usually has wine/beer garden, arts/crafts vendors, and live music. There is also a climbing wall, pumpkin decorating contest and inflatable bounce houses for kids.

Teton Valley Oktoberfest – Victor, ID – September 21, 2013
The Grand Teton Brewing Company throws this annual Oktoberfest as a fundraiser for the Teton Valley Foundation. Grand Teton beer, German food, live music, and kids activities. Ceremonial keg tapping starts the event. Oktoberfest games include keg toss and pie baking contest. Free admission.

Oktoberfest at Sacajawea Center – Salmon, ID – September 21, 2013
This Oktoberfest dinner with food, beer and contests follows a Dutch Oven gathering lunch at the Sacajawea Center.
