I’ll include a few Oktoberfest recipes. The selection of the food is almost as important as the purchase of some Oktoberfest beer. I really shouldn’t have to write this section on German food. Because you should be on your way to Munich for Oktoberfest. Or enjoying a beer at one of the U.S. Oktoberfest celebrations. So you should have already consumed more than your fair share of Oktoberfest food. But for those who are throwing an Oktoberfest party for their friends this year,
If you were at the Weis’n, you would have access to an endless supply of chicken, roast pork, sausage, and grilled fish on a stick. But what are you going to cook at home? I’ve put together a collection of links for German recipes for now. This Fall, I’ll be doing lots of cooking (and drinking) to try them out.
The most authentic Oktoberfest collection is hosted by Destination Munich. The Oktoberfest recipes there include pork knuckles, wiener schnitzel, sauerkraut, potato dumplings and soft pretzels.
Bon Appetit thoughtfully put together three potential Oktoberfest menus for you to choose to make for your Oktoberfest party. And they even come with a beer recommendation for each idea. The third menu is a feast of bratwurst, brisket, potatoes, and sauteed kale they called Oktoberfest at its Best.
