Oktoberfest in Washington State

If you live in Seattle or Northwest Washington, there are a number of Oktoberfest festivals in September and October 2015. Washington State boasts over 1 million residents with German heritage and there’s a lot of German food and beer consumed every fall.

2015 Events

We update the dates and locations of these German festivals as they are announced throughout the year. Please let us know if you are aware of an event that we do have yet.

Fremont Oktoberfest – Seattle, WA – September 18-20, 2015
The popular Seattle Oktoberfest with seasonal microbrews and German steins in the beer garden, live music, Texas Chainsaw pumpkin carving contest, 5K, Buxom Royalty costume contest. Kids area on Saturday and Sunday with zucchini racing and pumpkin carving. Dogtoberfest on Sunday. Location: Fremont neighborhood, Seattle

Kirkland Oktoberfest – Kirkland, WA – September 25-27, 2015
Beer and brats in the biergarden, live music, wiener dog races, and costume contest on the Kirkland waterfront. Location: Marine Park Pavilion, 25 Lakeshore Plaza Drive, Kirkland, WA 98033

Oktoberfest Northwest – Puyallup, WA – October 9-11, 2015
The 11th Annual Washington Oktoberfest will have beer, brats, authentic entertainment, 5K, wiener dog races, stein dash, Hammerschlagen, chicken dance and Kinderhaus/Family Fest Zone. This is an all ages event until 7 PM and 21+ only after 7 PM every evening. As an indoor event, it happens rain or shine. Location: Washington State Fair Events Center, 110 9th Ave SW, Puyallup, WA 98371

Leavenworth Oktoberfest – Leavenworth, WA – October 2-3, 9-10, and 16-17, 2015
Leavenworth, located two hours east of Seattle, celebrates Oktoberfest for three weekends in October. Started in 1998, it is now attended by more than 10,000 people annually. Keg tapping ceremony every Saturday at 1 PM. The Leavenworth Marathon is held on one of the Oktoberfest weekends. Live music, beer and German food, of course. There are free shuttles within Leavenworth and shuttles outside the city available for a fee. Location: Front and Tenth St, Leavenworth WA

Bellingham Oktoberfest – September 18, 2015
Select from more than 60 German and fall brews to taste as well local bratwurst options. Live German music, costume contests and other entertainment. Attendees receive a tasting glass, tasting tickets and snacks. 2014 Event Details: Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. It is sponsored by local brewery Boundary Bay. Proceeds benefit the Volunteer Center of Whatcom County. Event is from 6:30-10 PM.

Oktoberfest of the Austria Club of Washington – Seattle, WA – October 10, 2015
Enjoy the real beer tent atmosphere at this authentic Western Washington Oktoberfest! Wear your Dirndl or Lederhosen and polka the night away with the Bert Carlson Band. They offer traditional food (Schweinsbraten, Sauerkraut, and sides, along with tasty Apfelstrudel), paulaner bier, wine soft drinks and free bottled water. Table reservations made for parties of 8. Location: Alki Masonic Hall, 4736 40th Avenue SW, Seattle, Washington

Everett Sausage Festival – Everett, WA – October 2-4, 2015
39th annual family oriented weekend fair with a Bavarian theme. Bavarian dinner, children’s games, family entertainment, carnival and beer garden. Location: Perpetual Help Grounds, 2619 Cedar St., Everett, WA, 98201

Trout Lake Community Foundation Oktoberfest – October 3, 2015
Third annual event in downtown Trout Lake. Enjoy local microbrews, apple cider and other treats.
Location: outside Trout Lake Art Center

2014 Events

Monroe Oktoberfest – Sept 19-21, 2014
Opening tap is Friday at 6 PM. Shop for gifts at the German Corner. Enjoy free games including Hammerschlagen, corn hole and a special kid’s area. The family fest zone and Kinderhaus will have a Crater Lake Root Beer Garden, pumpkin decorating, free face painting and kids’ Hammerschlagen. Plenty of German food to satisfy your hunger. Beers include Veltins, Beyreuther, Bayern Oktoberfest, Veltins Ice, Maisel’s Weisse and Alktien Kellerbier Zwickle. There will also be wine from Waterbrook. S-Bahn, a band founded by singer and accordionist Richard Tyce that specializes in Oktoberfests, will play two shows per day in the evening. Parking is free in the East lot. Discounted admission on Friday from noon to 3 PM (free!) and half price on Sunday. Regular price is $10. Children 12 and under are free all weekend.

Bier on the Pier – Anacortes, WA – October 3-4, 2014
Beer from 30 Breweries served as well as food and live music. Costume contest on both Friday and Saturday. 21+ only.

Kitsap Oktoberfest – Bremerton, WA – September 20, 2014
The Cloverleaf Sports Bar & Grill will host the Kitsap Oktoberfest to benefit the Kitsap Firefighters Benevolent Fund. German food, live music, games and beer from Silver City Brewery.

Enumclaw Brew Fest- Enumclaw, WA – November 16, 2013
Exciting festival featuring live music, delicious food, game tournaments, beer pong, corn hole & washers.  Local brewers and 24 different brews.  Tickets for admission are $10 which includes 2 brewlicious tastes.  Open noon until midnight.  Free parking.
