Have some fun in 2015 at an Oktoberfest in Louisiana. The state may only have 400,000 citizens with German heritage. But if there is one thing about the people of New Orleans – they love a good party! So I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a substantial increase in the number of people claiming German ancestry during September and October. You can look for them at one of these Louisiana Oktoberfest festivals:

Roberts Cove Germanfest – Roberts Cove, LA – October 4-5, 2014
Roberts Cove is a small community that celebrates its German heritage with this annual festival the first weekend of October. Authentic German food, German beer on tap, live entertainment and family friendly environment with children’s activities. In conjunction with the event, they run a home brew contest sanctioned by the American Homebrew Association. The event is sponsored by the Roberts Cove Germanfest Association. Past attractions and entertainment have included live music by German bands and folk singers, an antique farm equipment display, blacksmith demonstrations, folklore presentations and the German Heritage Museum. Deutsches Haus Oktoberfest – New Orleans, LA – October 10-11,17-18,24-25 , 2014
This New Orleans Oktoberfest is quite a party! It is open Friday and Saturdays in October. They are open from 8:00 am through 11:30 pm. They feature authentic German music, foods, and beverages. Lots of fun activities throughout the day.

Revel in the Madness – Shreveport, LA – October 18, 2014
An afternoon of beer tasting from 2 PM to 6 PM. This is their 6th annual event. This is a charity event with an afternoon of beer tasting for $60 per person. They feature over 100 beers at this event. Sample all the beer and enjoy the free samples of signature dishes from the best restaurants in the area. Activities include the Spiegelau Beer Connoisseur Tasting Seminar. Lear how to correctly tell the differences in brews.

Cajun Village Oktoberfest – Sorrento, LA – October 24-25, 2014
There is a fall festival with Cajun food, music and handmade crafts on the third weekend of October. Saw a website that refers to this as an Oktoberfest.

Shreveport Oktoberfest – Shreveport, LA - Back in 2015
(Information from 2013 event) The second year of this Shreveport Oktoberfest held at Zocolo Eatery & Drinkery promises more brats, beer, girls and music. Music from Prost! Band and Shreveport’s own, Bayou Gypsy. Tickets promise an “Ultimate German Feast” from the brat bar, plus spatzel and pretzels. Photo booth with the bier girls and Masskrugstemmen Contest. And LSU v. Georgia will be on the big screen.

Covington Brewhouse Oktoberfest – Covington, LA
Don’t see anything posted about this on their website for 2013 but they are having a Great American Beer Fest October 10-12, 2013.

The website currently says the restaurant is undergoing renovations so perhaps they are not having their annual New Orleans Oktoberfest this year ?!
