Oktoberfest in West Virginia

Very few things are more fun than Oktoberfest in West Virginia celebrations.  West Virginia doesn’t have an especially large German population. Only 350,000 residents claim German heritage. But West Virginia citizens do have two qualities that make for an excellent Oktoberfest. They like to drink. And they know how to party! So here are a few West Virginia Oktoberfest parties where you can indulge in good beer and good food:

2014 Events

Oglebayfest – Wheeling, WV – October 3-5, 2014
Annual fall festival with parade, fireworks and the Ohio County Country Fair.
Location: 465 Lodge Dr., Wheeling, WV 26003

Ravenswood Octoberfest – Ravenswood, WV
This event will be held the first weekend in October. Here is the 2013 description: This 13th annual West Virginia Oktoberfest has a full lineup of events throughout the weekend. Saturday has a grand parade, chili cook off, cake & pie contest, corn hole contest, and bocce contest. Sunday is the car show, pet show and Halloween Costume contest. They also have live entertainment and kids activities.

Bramwell Oktoberfest – Bramwell, WV – October 11, 2014
The 19th annual Brawell Oktoberfest will be held between 2 and 8 PM including live music and the results from their home brew competition.

Bavarian Inn Oktoberfest – Shepherdstown, WV – September 21, 2014
From noon to 6 PM, there will be German food, beer and more at this 30 year old festival. Kids activities, arts and crafts as well.

Mannington Oktoberfest – Mannington, WV – October 4, 2014
 The date is on their community pages of their website. No other information is listed.
Location: Market St, Mannington WV
